Document the device before the first screw turns
Give the counter a fast, repeatable condition inspection for every device. Required answers, damage notes, and photo evidence stay with the ticket, so the bench starts with facts instead of someone's memory.
Recorded from the real app: Asuka Langley's two-device ticket opens from its saved summary into two complete inspections with damage notes and matched photo evidence.
One inspection for every device in the drop-off
BenchKey scopes the checklist per device, not just per customer or ticket. A two-device intake gets two complete sets of answers with the hardware named at the top, while the ticket rail rolls everything into one readable summary.
Damage becomes evidence, not a vague warning
Each row records OK, Damaged, or N/A. Choosing Damaged opens a focused note field and, when that item allows it, a photo attachment. The finished ticket shows condition counts, every damage note, photo count, and who recorded the inspection.
Required questions are genuinely required
Mark the observations that must be verified at intake. BenchKey prompts staff when an uninspected ticket opens, tracks completion across every device, and keeps Save inspection locked until every required answer is present.
Start with your industry, then make it yours
Apply one of ten starting presets for electronics, data recovery, automotive, appliances, jewelry and watches, tailoring, computers, cameras, instruments, or general service. Rename, reorder, require, add, or remove rows without rewriting inspections already recorded. Checklist evidence also carries into the ticket case file.
FAQ
Condition checklists & photo evidence questions
Does the checklist appear on every ticket automatically?
Only after an owner enables Capture device condition at intake in Condition Checklists settings and keeps an active checklist. It is off by default, so shops that do not need condition capture never get an extra step.
What happens when one customer drops off several devices?
Each device gets its own answers. Required completion is checked across the whole drop-off, and the ticket summary combines the counts and damage notes without losing the per-device records.
Can I change the preset?
Yes. Presets are a starting point, not a locked template. Change the name, order, required flags, photo flags, and items, or build a checklist from scratch.
Will editing a checklist erase old evidence?
No. Recorded inspections keep their item labels, states, notes, photo references, recorder, and timestamp on the ticket. The condition section remains part of the case file even if the working template changes later.
