Report a bug, suggest an idea
BenchKey is built by the same team that runs it in a working shop, so when something breaks or something’s missing, say so. The buttons are right in the app.
Reporting a bug
Section titled “Reporting a bug”The Report bug button sits in the sidebar on every screen.
- Click Report bug.
- Describe what happened, with the steps to reproduce it.
- Attach a screenshot if it helps, it’s optional, and the reporter shows a privacy note about what is captured.
- Send it. Diagnostics are included automatically so the team can reproduce what you saw.
Reports go straight to the people who build BenchKey, the same team that runs it in a working shop.
What makes a good report
Section titled “What makes a good report”- Steps to reproduce, what you did, in order, so the team can follow you to the bug.
- One issue per report. Two bugs means two reports, each one gets tracked and fixed on its own.
The Ideas board
Section titled “The Ideas board”The Ideas section is a shared suggestion board for everything that isn’t broken, just missing.
- Post an idea.
- Comment on other people’s ideas.
- Admins triage the board.
Features genuinely get built from this board, it’s not a suggestion box that feeds a shredder.
Before you report
Section titled “Before you report”If you’re stuck rather than blocked by a bug, check common tasks first, the answer may already be there. Need a person instead? Contact us.
