Your free trial
Public access is paused. Join the waitlist for access updates. When public access opens, the trial offers 14 days on Business, with no credit card. Invited beta shops get the first year free, then pay half of list price for life under the invited beta terms. During a trial, import data and run real tickets; you’re never charged unless you choose a plan.
What’s included
Section titled “What’s included”Business plan access, subject to beta exclusions, workspace enablement and provider setup. Paid Business includes We move your data for you and priority support during support hours. Trial accounts can request migration help; confirm the scope and availability with support before relying on the service. You can also import your data yourself.
Reminders
Section titled “Reminders”- In the last 3 days, a banner says when your trial ends, with Pick a plan for the owner. Nothing is deleted when it ends.
- The owner also gets emails: about a week before the end, two days before, and when it ends.
Choose a plan early
Section titled “Choose a plan early”Open Settings → Billing & Payments → Plan & Billing and choose a plan. Paying ends the trial that day and your first month starts then; there’s no “add a card now, pay on day 14”. See Change your plan.
When the trial ends
Section titled “When the trial ends”If you haven’t chosen a plan, BenchKey pauses behind a screen that says Your free trial has ended. Nothing is deleted when the trial ends: your tickets, invoices, leads and settings are all still there. From that screen the owner:
- sees the plan that fits what the shop used, highlighted;
- sees what would pause on a smaller plan, before choosing;
- picks a plan and pays, and the shop opens again where it left off;
- can request Export my data, subject to the export controls.
Teammates see a note that plan changes are the owner’s, with the owner’s email address.
Team bigger than the plan? BenchKey asks you to Choose who keeps access. You always keep access; the others can’t sign in on the smaller plan, but nothing about their work is deleted, and they come back when you move up.
Need more time? Add 7 days
Section titled “Need more time? Add 7 days”A shop that has logged at least 5 real tickets (practice tickets don’t count) can add one extra week, once. The owner sees Need more time? Add 7 days on the trial-ended screen; choose it and the new end date appears.
What pauses on a smaller plan
Section titled “What pauses on a smaller plan”If you choose a plan smaller than Business, the features it doesn’t include pause. On Pro: mail-in (forms, shipping labels and carrier rates), business clients and the API, and more than one store needs Business. On Standard, also: the online booking page, on-site visits, texts from your shop’s number (you text from your own phone instead), review requests, label printing, QuickBooks Online sync, your own automations including your own status messages (built-in status emails keep sending), and the time clock and shift scheduling; Standard includes 75 new tickets a month. On both, people beyond the plan’s limit can’t sign in. Nothing is deleted, and everything comes back when you move up.
Your data
Section titled “Your data”The owner can request a workspace export from Settings → System → Export Data while the shop is open, or with Export my data on the trial-ended screen. Recent authentication and a daily limit apply. Exports remain available during a pending request or scheduled cooling period. New exports are blocked once deletion is approved or executing. Review the manifest and choose separately whether to include sensitive material. See export scope and controls. If you decide not to continue, export what you need before you go. After an account ends, the Terms give you 30 days to request an export; after that, BenchKey may delete your data, apart from what the Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum require us to keep and leftover copies in routine backups.
Card declined later
Section titled “Card declined later”When a paid month’s payment fails, BenchKey shows Payment failed with Update payment method. Update the card on your existing subscription; don’t start a second one. See Change your plan.
